INDOT celebrates Earth Day with Trash Bash!

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces that the agency’s Trash Bash! event will take place April 21 through 23, coinciding with Earth Day. Trash Bash! is an opportunity for volunteers to help beautify the state’s roadside areas by picking up trash and debris. Previously an annual event, the program was temporarily halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Egg Hunt/Free Movie Cancelled

Regretfully, the American Legion and the Diana Theater will not be presenting the free Easter show or Egg Hunt this year. The Legion is concerned about the weather and condition of the grounds at the park, while the Diana theater is still awaiting parts to be able to install their new furnace. Nick Paikos anticipates the furnace to be fixed soon,or the weather to break for the theatre to open and hopefully next year the traditional hunt and movie will be back.

Briefs

The offices for the Elwood Call-Leader, Tipton County Tribune and the Alexandria Times-Tribune have moved to 108 S. Anderson St., Elwood, inside the Elwood Chamber of Commerce building. Hours of operation will remain the same, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, the offices are closed this week due to damage from last weekend's storms.
