The Tipton County Extension Homemakers met Oct. 16, 2024, at the Tipton County Fairgrounds for the 80th Annual Achievement Day and Century Farms Awards Presentations.
Achievement Day is when members make and bring in projects to be displayed. These projects are judged and awarded ribbons. One project is chosen to be displayed at the State IEHA Home and Family Conference in June to represent Tipton County. Twenty exhibits were displayed this year. Best of Show was presented to Bonnie Shelden.
Four ladies received special recognition for their years of service in the Extension Homemakers organization. They are Ann Cox – 10 years, Beverly Hudson – 20 years, Emmanell Dunn – 25 years and Bonnie Shelden – 60 years.
Two families were honored and recognized with Century Farms awards. The family of Benjamin Leavell from Madison Township and the family of John D. Smith from Jefferson Township. Accepting for the Benjamin Leavell Family was Carly Fettig Tilley for her father, Kurt Fettig. Accepting for the John D. Smith family was Lisa Smith Fettig.
