Elwood artist remembered through her work
Lena McDaniel never set out to be remembered. She painted because she enjoyed it, and whenever she sold a piece, she asked only enough to cover her supplies. Decades after her death in 1989, however, her works still hang on walls throughout Indiana — including, as her granddaughter recently discovered, at the Elwood Public Library.
