The City of Tipton was recently awarded a $1.5 million Community Crossing Matching Grant from the Indiana Department of Transportation, marking the largest grant of this kind in the city’s history.The matching grant will be used to resurface Jefferson Street, install a new drainage system along West Street and improve walkability on downtown streets.“We are all well aware of the drainage challenges that we face in Tipton,” stated Mayor Kegan Schmicker.
