Diana Theatre finishes renovation

Tipton’s Diana Theatre has been owned by the same family for 96 years. Jim Paikos’ father, Nicholas, bought the Diana in 1926. Nicholas was a Greek immigrant coming to America at age 14, but the Diana was named after a Roman Goddess. A naming contest was implemented and a young boy won a $10 gold piece after his suggestion was selected. The Diana has seen four Paikos generations work her counters.

Daniel J. and Mary Agnes Mattingly Scholarship Fund established at Tipton County Foundation

The Tipton County Foundation is honored to announce the creation of the Daniel J. and Mary Agnes Mattingly Scholarship Fund, established through a bequest at the time of Dan Mattingly’s passing. This scholarship will support continuing education for a graduating senior from any Tipton County high school, with preference given to students who have spent time in the foster care system or are no longer living with their birth parents. Dan and Tommie’s lifelong dedication to education and philanthropy will continue to impact the lives of local students for generations to come.
