Medal of Honor recipient Sammy L. Davis to speak in Lawrence
LAWRENCE - Sammy L. Davis, the only living Hoosier recipient of the Medal of Honor, will be the keynote speak at the opening ceremony for the Moving Wall, a half scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington DC, in Lawrence on June 24 at 1 p.m.
Council approves truck ordinance; gets update on Humane Society building
Members of the Tipton Common Council met Monday at Tipton City Hall. Information was shared with council members from an earlier Board of Works (BOW) meeting. The BOW approved Phase 1 of the downtown park. They also approved a street closure for the Summer Reading Program on July 20.

Conaway, Hare earn medals
YORKTOWN, Ind. — Senior Maverick Conaway was a technicality away from a possible individual regional championship. But he and Tipton teammate Gavin Hare won medals at last Thursday’s Muncie Central Golf Regional.
THS golfers advance to state
The Tipton High School boys golf team placed second at last Thursday’s Muncie Central Regional played at The Players Club and earned a trip to the state meet on Tuesday and Wednesday. Hamilton Southeastern won the regional with a 289. The Blue Devils edged Noblesville 303-306 for second place. The top three teams advanced to the state meet at Prairie View G.C. in Carmel. Team members include (from left): Preston Lancaster, Nolan Swan, Maverick Conaway, Calvin Condict and Gavin Hare. Conaway and Hare also earned second- and third-place medalist honors. ISP investigating EPD shooting
The Indiana State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting, a press release from the agency states. The incident occurred Friday during a domestic battery incident.
