2X REGIONAL CHAMPION

WARSAW — Tipton’s Evan Long repeated as the 1,600-meter regional champion last Thursday to earn a second consecutive trip to the boys state track and field meet. Long’s path to this Friday’s state meet is similar to last year’s as he dominated the sectional and then found himself in a battle to the finish at the regional.

Beloved icon Tina Turner recently passed, leaving fans and admirers in total shock. ANDERSON — Tri-Central’s bats were cracking, senior Felix Perez was solid on the mound and the defense behind him was strong. In other words, it was the perfect recipe for the Trojans to earn a 13-2, five-inning sectional victory over Liberty Christian last Thursday.

Blue Devils come up short at sectional

KOKOMO — Solid pitching and error-free defense were not enough for Tipton in Wednesday night’s opening game of the Class 2A Eastern Sectional. The Blue Devils’ inability to get timely hits saw them come up short against Taylor, 3-2.
