IDHS Honors EMS Professionals; Where Emergency Care Begins

When Hoosiers dial 911 for an emergency, no matter the weather or time of day, they have confidence that trained and dedicated EMS personnel will come to their rescue. During EMS Week, the Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS) honors these certified EMS professionals as they start their shifts to provide emergency care statewide.

INDOT to host public information meetings

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is hosting seven public information meetings as it continues the Planning and Environment Linkages (PEL) studies along the US 30 and US 31 corridors in northern Indiana. The purpose of the meetings is to report on insights gained from the public thus far, share additional data gathered by the study teams and provide an overview of needs and desired outcomes.

Whip It

Arts and Entertainment What does the band Devo bring to mind? When you hear “Whip It” does your mind automatically recall the devastation caused by the massacre at Kent State on the 4th of May in 1970? “I don’t think I would have started Devo had that not happened,” says Gerald Casale, who formed the band in the early 1970s with Bob Lewis. “It’s that simple.” Both men were there, on campus and witnessed the loss of two friends, Allison Krause and Jeffrey Miller.

KOKOMO — The COVID- 19 pandemic of 2020 is the only thing that stopped Tipton’s Maverick Conaway at the Hoosier Conference boys golf match during his four-year prep career. The Blue Devil senior finished with an even par 73 at Chippendale G.C.

1937-2023 Reverend James Leon Sharber, 85, of Windfall, graduated to his heavenly home on Thursday, May 11, 2023. He was born on July 18, 1937 in Maryville, Tennessee to his parents, Harold Sharber and Myrtle (Teffetellar) Sharber.

1942-2023 Ralph Brannum, 80 of Kempton passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at his home. He was born on December 14, 1942 in Byrdstown, Tennessee.
