(METRO CREATIVE CONNECTION) –– Among the tall grasses and wildflowers that sprout each spring and summer lies a stealth predator just waiting for its chance at an easy meal. Ticks may be small in stature, but their impact on bite victims is potentially significant.

According to Indiana.gov, approximately 314 cases of Lyme Disease were reported in Indiana in 2021. More than 1,300 cases occured between 2012 and 2020. While the disease is most common in the spring and summer months when ticks are active, Lyme disease can occur during any time of the year. Though cases can occur in any county across Indiana, cases are more common in Northwestern Indiana.
