SHARPSVILLE — Led by Logan Creason’s double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds, Tri-Central defeated county rival Tipton 60-27 in last Thursday’s varsity girls basketball game here.The Lady Blue Devils jumped out to a 7-2 lead, but then the Lady Trojans started getting the ball inside to Creason.

Blue Devils come up short

The football season came to a crushing halt for the Tipton Blue Devils last Friday night.Eastern’s Isaiah Pickett’s scored on a one-yard touchdown run with 3:04 remaining in the game and the visiting Comets held on to defeat the Blue Devils 21-15 in the Class 2A Sectional 36 championship game.“We just didn’t play well tonight,” Tipton coach Aaron Tolle said.

Lady Eagles wear down Lady Trojans

SHARPSVILLE — Frankton outscored Tri-Central 27-14 in the second half to earn a 48-36 victory here in last Thursday’s girls varsity basketball season opener for both teams.The Lady Trojans led 22-21 at halftime.“Right now, we’re kinda depleted,” Tri-Central coach Matt Corn said.

Lady Devils win opener then lose 2

The Tipton High School girls basketball team opened its season with a 41-28 victory over Eastern in the Inferno last Tuesday.It was the Lady Devils’ first win since the Lady Devils upset Blackford 44-42 in the Class 2A Sectional 39 semifinals on Feb.

Blue Devils shut out Tigers 21-0

ALEXANDRIA — Tipton’s defense, with a little help from the mistake-prone hosts, shut down Alexandria’s high-powered offense in last Friday night’s second-round semifinal of Class 2A Sectional 36.The Blue Devils defeated the Tigers 21-0 and now advance to Friday night’s sectional championship game.

Tipton’s Muncie advances to C.C. regional

NOBLESVILLE — Tipton senior Jaxsen Muncie continued his terrific cross country season by advancing out of the tough Noblesville Sectional last Saturday.Muncie placed 33rd overall and was the seventh fastest individual on a non-advancing team which earned him a trip to this Saturday’s Shelbyville Regional.

Tipton whips Benton Central, snaps 3-game losing streak

An early night also turned into a short night for the Tipton High School football team last Friday.Senior Dallas Capshaw scored three touchdowns, the Blue Devil defense dominated, and Brogan Foerg was 7-for-7 on PAT kicks and added a 22-yard field goal as Tipton routed Benton Central 52-0.The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Blue Devils (5-4, 2-1 HC).“We excelled in all three phases tonight,” Tipton coach Aaron Tolle said.

Trojans rout Bulldogs

SHARPSVILLE — Jacob Cline turned in quite a senior night performance as he rushed for a record 311 yards to lead Tri-Central to a 35-13 victory over Clinton Central here last Friday night.Cline was not the only senior to have a big night.

Tipton, Tri-Central lose in sectional

The volleyball season came to a close for Tipton and Tri-Central last week.The Lady Trojans were swept by Cowan 25-5, 25-17, 25-18 in last Tuesday’s opening match of the seven-team Class A Daleville Sectional.The Lady Blue Devils, meanwhile, fell to Sheridan 25-18, 25-15, 23-25, 25-20 in last Saturday’s semifinals of the Class 2A Taylor Sectional.Sheridan had advanced to the semifinals by defeating Elwood 25-11, 25-6, 18-25, 25-16 in last Thursday’s second quarterfinal match.
