Taylor rallies to defeat Lady Devils

CENTER — Tipton’s Lady Devils were in position to get their first win of the season, leading host Taylor 45-34 with 6:54 remaining in last Wednesday night’s game.But Taylor junior Jallainah Harris took over and single-handedly rallied the Titans.

Trojans hold off Frontier

CHALMERS — Tri-Central rallied from a slow start and then survived a wild fourth quarter to pull out a 55-52 victory over Frontier here on Saturday.The win was the second in two nights for the Trojans and improved their record to 2-1.“Frontier is always a gym that is a difficult place to get a win,” Tri-Central coach Cam Hindman said.

SHARPSVILLE — There were plenty of reasons Tri-Central’s varsity boys basketball team recorded its first win of the season last Friday night.The friendly confines of home, the return of senior Landon Grant, a strong inside-outside game and very good free-throw shooting led to the Trojans defeating visiting Cowan 72-58 and evening their record at 1-1 on the season.Free-throw shooting may have been the biggest key to the win.
