SHERIDAN — Tipton’s three-year reign as a girls soccer sectional champion came to an end on a rainy Thursday night here last week.

GREENTOWN — Junior Lacey Bitner became the third Tipton High School volleyball player to reach a milestone this year, joining seniors Keliah Smith and Cearrah Cooper.Bitner recorded her 1,000th assist in the Lady Devils’ dominating 25-9, 25-6, 25-17 victory over Taylor in last Thursday’s Class 2A Eastern Sectional first-round contest.Earlier this season, Cooper recorded her 1,000th career dig and Smith surpassed 1,000 career kills in the final week of the season.

A long week culminated with a fourth-place finish in the Hoosier Conference tournament for the Tipton Lady Blue Devil varsity soccer team.Tipton traveled to West Lafayette to play 7:30 p.m.

Tipton freshman Kennedy Lancaster carded a 3-over par 75 to earn a 5th-place medal at Saturday’s Lapel Girls Golf Regional played at Edgewood G.C.
