Sigma Delta Pi, Theta Chapter attends Fall Festival
Four women from the Sigma Delta Pi, Theta Chapter in Tipton County, attended the educational sorority’s “Sounds of Sigma” for the Fall Festival in Fishers, hosted by the Alpha-Alpha Chapter.
One of Tipton’s treasured gems: Tipton County Family Resource Center
Dr. Susy Mariscal, assistant professor at the Indiana University School of Social Work, is the project director of Strengthening Indiana Families. She shares the history of the Indiana Family Resource Centers: “In 2019, we embarked on a collaborative journey with the Indiana Department of Child Services and the Indiana Department of Health to prevent child maltreatment by supporting families, building on family strengths and protective factors, reducing risk factors, and engaging community resources and connections.
Local Catholic churches have a new priest
On Sunday, August 17, 2025 at the early morning mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tipton, a new priest was installed. His name is Rev. Adam Mauman. He formally served as pastor of St. Charles Borromeo, which is located in Peru, IN from 2014-2025, before being transferred to serve as pastor of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church here in Tipton, and St. Joeseph Catholic Church in Elwood.
