Tipton County residents were treated to a spectacular Fourth of July fireworks show. BurgerHaus Productions kept eyes to the sky for an approximate 30 minute continuous show of bright blasts of fireworks fun. The fireworks were ignited at the Tipton County 4-H Fairgrounds with the crowd of watchers cheering with excitement.
The annual Elwood 4th of July Celebration, sponsored by the Elwood Optimist Club in conjunction with BurgerHaus Productions, will begin Friday, July 4th at dusk in the Elwood Junior Senior High School/Callaway Park area.
The Tipton Community School Corporation’s Agriculture Department and its educators have received multiple honors from the Indiana Association of Agricultural Educators (IAAE). The awards, presented at the IAAE Banquet on June 9, highlight the department’s excellence and dedication to agricultural education.
The Social Action Ministry Team at West Street Christian Church hosted over 50 people ranging in age from 5 to 81 who gathered in the church basement on June 22 to participate in Pack Away Hunger, a program out of Indianapolis that allows volunteers of all abilities to pack nutritious food bags called Nutri-Plenty which consists of a dehydrated mix of veggies, soy, and rice along with a powerful micro nutrient pack. These are combined and sealed in a bag with enough contents to make six servings.

This summer the Tipton Public Arts Commission, funded by the Indiana Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts, is sponsoring a visiting artist at the Tipton Public Library, the Tipton County Boys and Girls Club, and the Encore Lifestyle and Enrichment Center.
