There’s been a new face in the Tipton County Extension Office for the last month.
The three Tipton County Board of Commissioners (BOC) approved Technology Director Bill Steen’s proposal to change from the county’s current livestream vendor to BoxCast, which offered livestream with the closed caption option all for $3,200 annually.
On Thursday, June 13 at approximately 1:38 a.m., Captain Tyler Irwin of the Elwood Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a silver 2013 Chevy Tahoe near South 16th and South L Streets for failing to come to a complete stop at a stop sign.When the vehicle stopped at South 18th and South L Streets, Captain Irwin approached the driver, identified as Nicholas Backer, 32, of Tipton, and his passenger, Haleigh Ann Schaffner, 34, of Elwood.

Members of the Tipton Common Council had a short but informative meeting on Monday.Councilman Nate Kring reported on the Board of Works meeting that took place earlier in the day.
