Madison County 4H Fair

The Madison County 4H Fair will held from Sunday, July 16 through Saturday, July 22 at the Madison County 4H Fairgrounds in Alexandria. The Madison County 4-H Fair is a collaborative community event, showcasing and promoting the achievements and talents of youth as they work toward building their successful futures.

Gosnell and Gotschall team up to revitalize TCSC Nature Center

One of Tipton Community School Corporation’s beloved amenities is its nature center. This 11-acre outdoor classroom is being revitalized thanks to a collaborative effort led by Joe Gosnell, Tipton High School Science teacher and Tera Gotschall, a 2021 Tipton High School graduate who will be entering her third year of college at Indiana University-Kokomo in the fall.

The gold dispenser

The Association of Mature American Citizens You can find a candy bar dispenser anywhere these days but you’ll have to go to South Korea if you want to find a gold bar dispenser. GS Retail, which operates some 10,000 convenience stores throughout that country, has been fitting them out with gold bar vending machines since last September.

Arrests reported

• James L. Taylor, 36, Frankfort, was arrested June 19 at 5:30 p.m. by TCSD for Auto Theft and Operator Never Licensed. He was taken to Tipton County Jail and later released on the pretrial release program.

Fire damages home on Green Street

Tipton Fire Department was dispatched to the 300 block of Green Street in the City of Tipton at approximately 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, along with automatic aid from Cicero Township Volunteer Fire Department, for a report of a structure fire. Engine 10 and Medic 81 arrived on the scene approximately four minutes after the initial 911 call to find flames showing from the south side of the structure.
