Tipton County Commissioners met Monday, May 22, for their regular meeting. Brett Morris with the County Highway Department told commissioners that his department has started doing chip and seal to several county roads. It was mentioned that county residents can find what roads are being worked on through the county’s website at www.tiptongov.com.
K-9 Meeko is a oneand- a-half-year-old male Belgian Malinois. He was born in Columbia in mid-2021 and was brought to America by Ultimate Canine, LLC, where he was also trained.

Every year, Tipton’s American Legion Auxiliary has a Poppy Poster contest and an Americana Essay Contest. This year’s winners in the Poppy Poster Contest were Raegan Spray, first place; Cheyenne Jones, second place; and Maelee Morrisett, third place.
Tipton County Redevelopment Commission members Jan Smith, Tom McKinney, Tracey Powell, Jim Ashley, Mike Terry, Robert Cochrane and Monte Henderson listened to the possibility of creating an extended Economic Development Area (EDA) around the current Overlay District. There are already EDAs on both the east and west sides of U.S. 31 along Ind. 28. This would enlarge the area to encompass Ind. 28 from the city limits to U.S. 31 and then over to Tetersburg and up to Goldsmith onto Division Road down Division Road all the way back to 300 West and back to Jefferson Street.
