This is Builders Club Week and an opportunity to highlight the important work of this middle school/junior high level service club and its history. Builders Club is the largest service organization for middle school and junior high students, with more than 45,000 members worldwide.
PLAINFIELD – More than $300,000 in financial assistance is available to Duke Energy Indiana customers who may be struggling to pay their energy bills. The funding is made possible through Duke Energy’s Share the Light Fund, which brings together customers and communities to help individuals and families in need.

There will be a Hoosier Homestead Application and Information Session on Wednesday, March 29 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the 4H/Farm Bureau Building at the Madison County 4H Fairgrounds in Alexandria. The session will provide information on how to join more than 5,800 Indiana family farms who have been recognized for their economic contributions, cultural impacts, and social advancements over the last 100 years.
CherryRoad Media will soon launch a new website for The Tipton County Tribune, Elwood Call-Leader and the Alexandria Times-Tribune. Here are a few key notes regarding this change: • During the transition period, the websites will be available to all visitors at no cost.
Questions arose from Tipton Common Council member Sophie Hufford concerning the Truck Ordinance that is currently on the books. City Attorney Matt Quigley has been working on updating the current ordinance. Things need to be added such as defining what local deliveries are, what roads trucks may use and the number of fines. Police Chief Jeff Stout would also like for the speed limit to be reduced by 5 mph through town and to not allow golf carts on Jefferson Street until all of the traffic issues die down. Abi Smith has been helping out with the ordinance and working with Quigley. It was noted any questions should be directed to her in the future.
A very important meeting will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday in the meeting room of the Tipton County Public Library.

We have a lot to look forward to! We have entered a time of the year when we are falling into a few different camps. Our Production Teams are focused on the final days of conditioning, treating, and bagging the 2022 crop; followed by the Warehouse and Distribution Team.
Tipton Middle School’s Cadet and Concert bands won Gold awards for their performances in the annual ISSMA Band Adjudication Festival at Elwood High School last Friday. That makes 24 Gold awards in a row, and 37 in the last 23 years!
