TES celebrates K-Kids Week
Margaret Mead, an American cultural anthropologist, said it best in the following quote: “A small group of thoughtful people could change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” Tipton Elementary School’s K-Kids Club advisors, Debra Kuhn, Allison Ripberger, Rachele Carter, and Jen Martin echo that sentiment when referencing the members of school’s KKids Club. As part of K-Kids Week (Feb. 13-17) this seemed the perfect time to highlight the club, its members, and impact locally.
Resolutions passed by common council members
Tipton Common Council members voted to approve Resolution 2023-03 to declare HP Alloys an Economic Development Revitalization Area and to support an eight-year Tax Abatement for the company's expansion. They are going to be spending $3.5 million to expand their operations. The vote was four to one with member Nathan Kring voting no on the resolution.
Annual jail report released
Tipton County Sheriff Matt Tebbe presented the Board of Commissioners with the 2022 annual jail report during its meeting on February 13, 2023. Jail Commander Captain Ray Sheppard prepared the report which has been filed with the Tipton County Auditor Melissa Pickering and is maintained as a public record.

1983 • Eight points by standout Kreigh Smith in overtime spelled victory for the Blue Devils as they downed visiting Blackford 64-61 in two extra periods. • The Northern Community School Bard presented a plaque to Bob Watson in appreciation of his 27 years he served as a bus driver for the school system.
