Senior adults often face unique emotional problems that can make life abnormally difficult, including feelings of anxiety and depression, difficulty coping with change and trouble adjusting to retirement. For those living in small rural communities across the state, those issues can be amplified due to a variety of factors such as transportation issues and lack of resources.

Several members of the Tipton County Council attended their statewide association meeting recently. They shared what they had learned during their meeting on July 15:

Tipton Trails had their monthly meeting to discuss the current projects the group is looking to check into. Chair Committeeman Steve Raber gave an update on the Kirkendall property which is located near the Howard/Tipton County line on the west side of U.S. 931. Raber noted that Tipton County Surveyor Jason Henderson and contractor Mike Terry are working together to lay out the first stage of the trail system there.

The Tipton City Council met Monday for a regular meeting. Following the pledge of allegiance, it was announced that as of July 1, all public meetings will be broadcast and streamed on the city’s YouTube page. It was disclosed that back end user error caused an issue with the recent Park Board stream, but those issues are being addressed.
