• Tipton County Sheriffs arrested Christopher Lee Bitterman, 31, of Greentown, on Wednesday, Sept. 24 for possession of methamphetamine, possession of salvia, and possession of paraphernalia.
IDEM still at work at Doctors’ Park
County Engineer Phil Beer II notified the three county commissioners of a letter in which Indiana Department of Environmental Management indicated its intentions of having an on-site meeting at the Doctors’ Park complex on October 2. Then the officials will meet with the commissioners.
Local Catholic churches have a new priest
On Sunday, August 17, 2025 at the early morning mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tipton, a new priest was installed. His name is Rev. Adam Mauman. He formally served as pastor of St. Charles Borromeo, which is located in Peru, IN from 2014-2025, before being transferred to serve as pastor of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church here in Tipton, and St. Joeseph Catholic Church in Elwood.

Fall means county budget time
In the “life” of an Indiana County Council, if it’s September, it’s work-on-the-county budgets for 2026. Tipton County Council members have spent hours pouring over projected departmental budgets. Of course, the goal is to decide how much of each departmental budget can be funded by anticipated county income in 2026.

The Tipton County Encore Lifestyle and Enrichment Center held its annual Senior Expo this past Tuesday in the 4-H auditorium.
