Tipton County Commissioners asked the County Maintenance Supervisor Rich Vautaw to inform Envy Turf to continue mowing around the east building of Doctors’ Park through this season. Then it will be the responsibility of Encore to tend to its yard next year.
Tipton County Solid Waste welcomed a new Director, Angela Shelton of Tipton. Shelton is settling in nicely to her new position and learning the ropes. The former Director Angie Heron decided to retire.

Emma Urick has been named the 2025 Red Gold Food Science Scholarship Award recipient. The Red Gold Purdue Food Science Scholarship is awarded to Purdue University students with strong aptitudes for a career in food science. In addition to the scholarship, Red Gold rewards the recipient with a paid internship at their Corporate Headquarters, along with hands-on experience at their three state-of-the-art food processing facilities and in their product development lab.

Dear Eric: One of our neighbors has acquired backyard chickens, and a rooster. His chicken coop is not far from our bedroom window. Now that it’s getting warmer, we like to sleep with the windows open to cool off the house at night. The rooster wakes up at 5:20 a.m., so now we do as well.
