Dear Eric: One of our neighbors has acquired backyard chickens, and a rooster. His chicken coop is not far from our bedroom window. Now that it’s getting warmer, we like to sleep with the windows open to cool off the house at night. The rooster wakes up at 5:20 a.m., so now we do as well.

City of Tipton awarded federal grant to advance transportation safety plan

The City of Tipton is proud to announce it has been awarded funding through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program. This federal investment will support the development of a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan to guide infrastructure improvements that reduce traffic accidents and improve mobility throughout Tipton.

A Celebration of Caring: 4C Health has 50th birthday

4C Health began as Four County Comprehensive Mental Health Center in 1975 where it served as the designated Community Mental Health Center for Cass, Miami, Fulton, and Pulaski Counties. In the early 1980s, inpatient psychiatric services were added to the continuum of behavioral health services the center offered. Starting in 2015, a growth journey began to meet the needs of additional surrounding rural communities. This growth included providing services to Howard, Tipton, White, Carroll, Clinton, Marshall, Wabash, and Grant Counties and beyond.

Tipton resident Philip Bradley Nichols to lead East Central District of Indiana Elks Association

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI — Thousands of members of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America and guests have gathered in Kansas City, Missouri, from June 29 to July 2 for the BPO Elks National Convention. During the convention, Philip Bradley Nichols, of Tipton, was installed as District Deputy for the BPO Elks for lodges in the East Central District of the Indiana Elks Association, Inc. and will serve a one-year term.
