Tipton and Tri-Central’s female wrestlers have been competing for two weeks, and the boys started their season last week.Tri-Central hosted a girls and boys wrestling doubleheader last Wednesday with both teams earning victories.The Lady Trojans topped Sheridan 30-24, while the TC boys dominated the Blackhawks 59-24.Tri-Central’s boys then competed in the Northfield Invitational on Saturday.

SHARPSVILLE — Led by Logan Creason’s double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds, Tri-Central defeated county rival Tipton 60-27 in last Thursday’s varsity girls basketball game here.The Lady Blue Devils jumped out to a 7-2 lead, but then the Lady Trojans started getting the ball inside to Creason.

The Tipton High School girls basketball team opened its season with a 41-28 victory over Eastern in the Inferno last Tuesday.It was the Lady Devils’ first win since the Lady Devils upset Blackford 44-42 in the Class 2A Sectional 39 semifinals on Feb.

ALEXANDRIA — Tipton’s defense, with a little help from the mistake-prone hosts, shut down Alexandria’s high-powered offense in last Friday night’s second-round semifinal of Class 2A Sectional 36.The Blue Devils defeated the Tigers 21-0 and now advance to Friday night’s sectional championship game.

INDIANAPOLIS — Tri-Central took a 14-6 lead into the fourth quarter of last Friday’s Class A Sectional 56 opener versus Tindley at Indianapolis Chatard.

Calvin Condict and his Blue Devil teammates would not be denied as Tipton rallied from a 7-0 halftime deficit to defeat Eastbrook 17-7 in the opening round of Class 2A Sectional 36 here on Friday night.The Blue Devils (6-4) will travel to Alexandria (7-3) next Friday for the semifinal round of the sectional.
