Tipton whips Benton Central, snaps 3-game losing streak

An early night also turned into a short night for the Tipton High School football team last Friday.Senior Dallas Capshaw scored three touchdowns, the Blue Devil defense dominated, and Brogan Foerg was 7-for-7 on PAT kicks and added a 22-yard field goal as Tipton routed Benton Central 52-0.The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Blue Devils (5-4, 2-1 HC).“We excelled in all three phases tonight,” Tipton coach Aaron Tolle said.

Trojans rout Bulldogs

SHARPSVILLE — Jacob Cline turned in quite a senior night performance as he rushed for a record 311 yards to lead Tri-Central to a 35-13 victory over Clinton Central here last Friday night.Cline was not the only senior to have a big night.

Tipton, Tri-Central lose in sectional

The volleyball season came to a close for Tipton and Tri-Central last week.The Lady Trojans were swept by Cowan 25-5, 25-17, 25-18 in last Tuesday’s opening match of the seven-team Class A Daleville Sectional.The Lady Blue Devils, meanwhile, fell to Sheridan 25-18, 25-15, 23-25, 25-20 in last Saturday’s semifinals of the Class 2A Taylor Sectional.Sheridan had advanced to the semifinals by defeating Elwood 25-11, 25-6, 18-25, 25-16 in last Thursday’s second quarterfinal match.

Lapel rallies to win shootout over Tipton then beats TC in final

The Lapel Bulldogs defeated Elwood and two Tipton County teams to claim their first sectional championship last week.Lapel shut out Tri-Central 7-0 in the Class A Tipton Sectional championship match last Saturday afternoon.The host Lady Devils and Eastern opened sectional play last Tuesday with Tipton winning 1-0 on a goal by Mylee Granson with 15:25 remaining in the match.
