INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana High School Athletic Association released pairings for the boys and girls soccer sectionals on Sunday evening.Tipton High School is hosting the girls Class A Sectional 39, which includes area teams Tri-Central and Elwood.Taylor High School is hosting Class A Sectional 38 which includes Tipton and Tri-Central.Boys and Girls Sectionals 37-40 feed into the Taylor Regional.

NOBLESVILLE — A bad back and a few bad lies did not prevent Tipton’s Josie Butler and Kennedy Lancaster from having a relatively good day on the golf course.Butler fired an 82 and Lancaster an 84 at Harbour Trees G.C.

TIPTON — As often is the case when Tipton and Tri-Central square off against each other in boys soccer, the game is tightly-contested and a nail-biter, and that held true in last Tuesday’s match played under the lights at Tipton Ford Field.Sophomore Quinn Smith lofted in a goal from outside the box with just under 16 minutes remaining in the match to lift the Blue Devils to a 1-0 victory over their county rivals.“I thought we controlled the game from start to finish,” Tipton coach Adam Tragesser said.

Tipton’s defense turned in another dominant performance as the Blue Devils shut out visiting Rensselaer Central 14-0 in Friday night’s Hoosier Conference small school division opener.A late kickoff became even later thanks to the storms that rolled through Central Indiana that night.
SHARPSVILLE — Friday turned out to be a long night for the Tri-Central High School football team, and not just because of two lightning delays.Delphi helped to make it an even longer night as the visiting Oracles left here with a 34-22 Hoosier Heartland Conference victory over the Trojans.The game started 30 minutes late because of storms that passed through Tipton County.
