Lady Devils place 4th in HC meet

CICERO — Grumpy, disappointed and happy to be done with the round best describes the emotions of Tipton High School girls golf team, and nearly every other player who competed in Saturday’s Hoosier Conference tournament at Bear Slide G.C.The Lady Devils’ dynamic duo of sophomore Kennedy Lancaster and junior Josie Butler did not feel like smiling even though they were the second- and third-place medalists and earned all-conference honors for a second straight year.

Sheridan tops Tipton in 5-set thriller

SHERIDAN — The Tipton High School volleyball team swept Clinton Central 3-0 last Tuesday and edged Western 3-2 last Wednesday to climb above .500 for the first time this season.The Lady Blue Devils were not as fortunate to pull out a second straight nail-biter, falling to Sheridan in five sets here on Monday night to fall to 6-6 on the season.Senior Cora Rodibaugh continues to have a strong year for the Lady Devils as she combined for 41 kills in last week’s two wins and added 21 more on Monday night.

Lady Trojans beat Taylor, lose to Braves

Tri-Central’s varsity girls soccer team left Taylor High School last Thursday with a 2-0 Hoosier Heartland Conference victory.The Lady Trojans then capped off a week of away matches with a 5-2 loss at Maconaquah on Saturday.TC 2, TAYLOR 0Lilly Stewart and Linda Jimenez-Vazquez had the goals for the Lady Trojans.“We played a solid game,” Tri-Central coach Matt Corn said.
