TC suffers 3 straight close setbacks
SHARPSVILLE — After the euphoria of upending county rival Tipton last Monday, Tri-Central’s varsity baseball team ended the week with frustrating losses. The first two losses came against Hoosier Heartland Conference rivals Rossville and Clinton Prairie.
Rensselaer outscores Tipton 16-10
The Tipton varsity baseball team is starting to close the gap on opponents as all three of last week’s losses went the full seven innings and were by a combined 11 runs. The Blue Devils, however, continue to hurt themselves with errors.

The road warriors were finally at home on Monday afternoon. The Tipton High School girls tennis team had its first and only home match on Monday.
Lady Trojans topple Titans 5-2
SHARPSVILLE — Successful teams find ways to win close ballgames. Tri-Central’s varsity softball team is hoping to make a successful run when sectional play starts next week.
HHC track champs
Tri-Central had two individuals earn first-place medals at the Hoosier Heartland Conference boys and girls track and field meet at Carroll High School on Friday, May 5. Sophomore Lilly Stewart (left) swept the throwing events in the girls meet, winning the shot put with a school-record breaking throw of 35-feet, 3-inches.
Lady Devils top Indians 2-1 in HC tourney
Tipton’s varsity softball team put together a complete game on Friday night to pull out a 2-1 victory over visiting Twin Lakes. Junior Emerson Merrell was strong in the circle, the defense behind her was solid, and the Lady Devils manufactured just enough runs to win the Hoosier Conference seventh-place game.
