Last week was a busy week for Tipton County baseball teams. Tri-Central split Hoosier Heartland Conference games, losing at Clinton Central last Wednesday and defeating visiting Sheridan 12-7 last Thursday. Tipton, meanwhile, went 0-4 losing at Alexandria (10-0) last Monday, falling to visiting Madison-Grant (11-5) last Wednesday, losing at Lapel (15-5) last Wednesday and at Clinton Prairie (8-0) last Saturday.

INDIANAPOLIS — Flag football is going to be an event at the 2028 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles. As of Monday, it is an emerging Indiana High School Athletic Association girls sport.

Hamilton Heights swept Tipton 13-3 and 12-0 in Hoosier Conference softball action last Tuesday and Wednesday.
CENTER — Chasity Kelich pitched a one-hitter and drove in four runs as Tipton’s varsity softball team routed Taylor 16-0 in five innings here on Monday night.

FRANKTON — Frankton cashed in on a pair of Tipton errors in the sixth and then survived a Blue Devil seventh-inning rally to earn a 9-5 victory in last Thursday’s varsity baseball action.

ELWOOD — Kelsey Armes’ three-run home run broke a 2-2 tie and Elwood went on to defeat Tri-Central 14-9 in Monday’s varsity softball game here.

Temperatures heated up this week and so did the Tipton varsity baseball team’s bats. The Blue Devils had just one win on the season heading into back-to-back Hoosier Conference contests against arch-rival Hamilton Heights.

SHARPSVILLE — Brandon Hagan was approved as the new varsity head football coach at the Tri-Central Community School Board of Trustees meeting on Monday night.
