Tipton, Cass softball split HC division contests
RGarmon@cherryroad.com Tipton’s varsity softball team split a pair of tightly-contested Hoosier Conference games with Lewis Cass this week, Emerson Merrill’s walkoff single lifted the Lady Blue Devils to a 5-4 victory over the visiting Kings on Tuesday night. The very next night, Cass pulled out a 4-3 win over Tipton.

RGarmon@cherryroad.com Vince Hoover’s big night at the plate and strong performance on the mound led Tipton to a 10-8 Hoosier Conference East Division win over visiting Lewis Cass on Tuesday night. But the Blue Devils struggled in Wednesday’s game at Lewis Cass, falling to the Kings 18-2.
Tri-Central’s boys, girls lose to Clinton Central
Tri-Central’s high school boys and girls track teams lost to Clinton Central on Tuesday night. The TC boys lost 77-54.

Tipton’s varsity baseball team capped a busy week with six-inning losses to Eastern (17-7) on Friday and Rossville (19-4) on Saturday. The back-to-back defeats dropped Tipton’s record to 1-6 on the season.
