SHARPSVILLE –– Turnovers, especially in the second half, doomed Tri-Central in Friday night’s regular-season finale. Northfield spoiled the Trojans’ senior night overcoming 36-29 halftime deficit to outscore TC 36-13 in the second half and go home with a 65-49 victory.

INDIANAPOLIS –– The Tri-Central Trojans desparately needed a win, and they got just that here on Wednesday night as they rolled to a 5628 victory over the Indiana School for the Deaf. The win snapped a seven-game losing streak for the Trojans (6-16) who close out the regular season tonight against Northfield.

The Tipton High School boys and girls swimming and diving teams wrapped up their seasons with some strong performances in the sectionals this month. Stone Conaway led the Blue Devil boys, placing third in the 50-yard freestyle in the finals of the Noblesville Sectional last Saturday.

Tipton had the situation it wanted, playing for the Hoosier Conference champonship on its homecourt after the Blue Devils won the East Division earning three of their four wins on the road. But, Rensselaer had more free throws, 3-pointers and rebounds than Tipton on Friday, which led the Bombers to a 63-57 victory over the Class 2A No.9-ranked Blue Devils and to a Hoosier Conference championship.

FRANKFORT –– Outside shooting had ingited Tri-Central to sectional and regional titles this season. But it disappeared on Saturday and with it, so did the Trojans’ semistate hopes.
