In a matchup between Class 3A and 2A powerhouses, Oak Hill’s experience proved to be the big difference as the 3A No. 9-ranked Golden Eagles exploded past 2A No. 9 Blue Devils of Tipton in the second half to go home with a 6649 victory on Tuesday night.
GASTON –– Tri-Central came out scorching the nets from 3-point range, hitting 5 of 8 in the opening quarter to take a 15-2 lead. The Trojans never looked back as they cruised to a 36-19 victory over Rossville in Saturday’s one-game Class A Wes-Del Regional.
Tri-Central defeated Rossville 36-19 to win Saturday’s one-game Class A regional at Wes-Del High School. The Trojans (12-13 advance to Saturday’s four-team Class A Frankfort Semistate and will take on No. 2-ranked Tri (25-1) in the 10 a.m. opener at Case Arena. No. 7 Bethany Christian (22-3) squares off against No. 6 Washington Township (20-6) in the second game. The winners will advance to Saturday’s 8 p.m. championship game.
