Tri-Central lost its first two varsity baseball games of the season. Both losses came on the road.

Tipton High School senior Grady Carpenter received Indiana Basketball Coaches Association all-state honors.

FRANKTON — The senior trio of Grady Carpenter, Sam Quigley and Landon Spidel performed like the veterans they are and led Tipton to a 41-31 victory over Taylor in the opening game of Tuesday night’s Class 2A Frankton Sectional.

DELPHI — Sophomores Makenna Comer and Chasity Kelich led the Tipton Lady Devils softball team to a 10-0 six-inning victory over Frankfort in the sixth-place game of Saturday’s Delphi tournament.

Cliff Hawkins has spent the last 46 years impacting young people whether it be in a classroom or on a basketball court. He plans to continue to educate, teach and even coach, but in a different way. A way that will have Hawkins making an even bigger impact.
