Tipton’s very own Elle Hufhand has been named Youth of the Year for the entire state of Indiana! Elle is a senior at Tipton High School.
Youth of the Year is a prestigious, nationwide program that includes a series of activities, experiences, and competitions designed to develop and showcase leadership, academic excellence, service, and personal growth among Boys & Girls Club members.
Elle has journeyed through the Boys & Girls Club of Tipton County with grace and determination. She earned the top spot in the local Youth of the Year competition just a few months ago and last week, she represented Tipton County at the state level.
During the event, Elle participated in interviews, submitted essays, and delivered a powerful speech – each scored on character, leadership, and presentation.
She shared her story, finding her voice, building confidence, and discovering purpose – and how she now uses her experience to uplift others who may be searching for the same. She spoke with poise, professionalism, and heartfelt emotion. We are incredibly proud of her courage and authenticity.
Being honored with this award brings immense pride – not only just for Elle, but for the entire Club.
This is what administrators had to say about the Boys & Girls Club of Tipton County, “We are so grateful to the past and present staff, board members, and donors who have poured into our mission and made programs like this possible. Your dedication has helped shape young leaders like Elle.”
They went on to say, “To those who have served within our walls in any capacity – we are here because of you. You laid the groundwork for this kind of impact, and we’re honored to carry it forward. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
A special thank you was given to the Campbell Family Foundation for sponsoring this year’s local Youth of the Year competition, making Elle’s journey to the state level possible.
