Big Cicero Creek

Big Cicero Creek Joint Drainage Board will meet at 9 a.m. today, April 23, at the Tipton County Courthouse.

Tipton Public Arts Commission

Members of the Tipton Public Arts Commission will meet at 6 p.m. today, April 23, in the Tipton County Public Library’s meeting room.

Master Gardeners

Tipton County Master Gardeners will give a presentation on how to grow vegetables, fruit, and flowers. Both in-ground and container gardening will be covered.  This will take place Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 7 p.m. at the Tipton County Extension Office, 1200 S Main St., Tipton.  Registration is requested by April 22 for this free event. Call 765-675-1177.

Tree Giveaway

Tipton County Soil & Water will have their annual Arbor Day Tree Giveaway on Friday, April 25, starting at 9 a.m. through noon or until all trees are given at the Tipton County Public Library. Red Maple will be the tree this year. Only one tree per household.

FOP Spring Social

Tipton’s FOP Spring Social will take place at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at the Tipton County 4-H and Community Building. Doors open at 5 p.m. Membership is $25.00 and includes all-you-can-eat and drink for the night.

Board of Works

Tipton City Board of Works will meet at 9 a.m. Monday, April 28, at Tipton City Hall.

Tipton Hospital Auxiliary

Tipton Hospital Auxiliary will meet Monday, April 28, at 10 a.m. in the first-floor Community Room in the hospital.  Members and anyone wishing to join are encouraged to attend.

Tipton Common Council

Members of the Tipton Common Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, April 28, at Tipton City Hall.

Special Meeting

Tipton Community School Corporation board members will have a special meeting on to be held on Monday, April 28, 2025 at 5 p.m. The meeting will take place in the TCSC Community Room, 817 S Main St.

Fundraiser planned

Tipton County Salvation Army will have a fundraiser from 4 to 9 p.m. on April 29 at Dairy Queen.  A portion of sales will be donated back to The Salvation Army.  Funds raised will stay in Tipton County to help those in need with food, utilities and rent.

Tipton County Public Library events

• April Adult DIY Club at the Windfall Branch today, April 23 at 5:30 p.m. for adults. There is no charge for the DIY Club. This month’s craft is a decoupage charger plate. Registration is required at tiptoncountylibrary.org or call 675-8761.

• Book Club for Adults at Tipton County Public Library. Come join the book club and have a book club discussion on Thursday, April 24, at 6:30 p.m. The club will be discussing ‘The Light Between Oceans’ by M. L. Stedman. • LEGO CLUB – Tipton Library on Monday, April 28 at 3:30 p.m. and Tuesday, April 29 at 3:30 p.m. at the Windfall Branch. Join to build a one-of-a-kind LEGO creation! Your work will be displayed in the library for all to enjoy. Registration is appreciated at tiptoncountylibrary.org but is optional. For kids of all ages.

• Windfall Book Club for Adults – Windfall Library Book Club Discussion on Thursday, May 1 at 11 a.m. Join the book club! Discussed will be “Killers of the Flower Moon” by David Grann. • Teen Gaming – Tipton County Public Library on Thursday, May 1, at 3:30 p.m. in the TCPL Creation Station. VR, Wii, and Switch for Teens: A Thrilling Adventure Awaits. The program offers teens immersive gaming experiences. Join and explore endless possibilities. Limited Spots Available! There is no fee for this experience. Registration recommended at tiptoncountylibrary.org. For ages 12-17.

• Foundational Calligraphy Workshop at Tipton County Public Library on Saturday, May 3 at 1 to 3 p.m. Learn the basics in this hand-on class that teaches the foundational skills of calligraphy styles. Leave with a calligraphy marker and the tools to keep practicing at home! This class is presented in partnership with Julia Fish Thompson and the Calligraphy Guild of Indiana.Registration is required at tiptoncountylibrary.org. For adults.

‘My Closet’

“My Closet” has winter coats, gloves and hats available for students in Pre-K through 12th grade attending Tipton Community School Corporation. Coats are brand new and free. If you know of a TCSC child needing a coat, please contact Mrs. Schultz at 317-677-3477 to arrange a time to get one. Appointments for other clothing items will be made after the remodeling of “My Closet” is complete.

Sharps Disposal

Tipton County residents who need to dispose of full sharps containers can now do so safely and responsibly at the Tipton County Health Department. This service ensures that biohazardous waste, such as needles, syringes, and other sharps, are handled in compliance with safety standards to protect public health and the environment. Sharps MUST be in a standard red sharps container. Residents may dispose of 1 full sharps container per household, per month.

Free HIV & Hep C Testing

‘Dinner’s on Us’

Kemp United Methodist Church invites all to take part in their monthly community fellowship meal – “Dinner’s on Us!” – the first Wednesday of each month, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Free Community Dinner

Emanuel Lutheran Church has a Free Community Dinner on the second Thursday of the month from 6 to 7 p.m. The dinner lasts until the food runs out.

Pet Food needed

The Humane Society of Tipton County needs dog food, cat food and cat litter. Items can be dropped off at Heritage Custom Painting, 114 S. Main St. in Tipton. or taken to the Pet Food Pantry from 5 to 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday at the Humane Society of Tipton County.
