IU Health Tipton Days of Service volunteer project

IU Health Tipton team members are taking their mission to help others outside hospital walls. The hospital completed its 16th annual Days of Service recently at Tri-Central Community Schools. Team members volunteered their time to spread mulch on the playgrounds.

Days of Service is an IU Health volunteer effort each year for all team members across the state to come together and make a difference in the communities IU Health serves.

Danielle Atkisson, supervisor of Medical Staff, Guest Relations and Volunteer Services, lives in Tipton County. She is glad to have the opportunity to give back.

“Living and working in Tipton County, I always think it is important to do what I can for our community,” she says. “The Days of Service volunteer opportunities always feel so impactful.”

This is one of multiple Days of Service projects team members are completing this year. Another project included assembling hygiene kits that will be donated to the nurses at Tipton and Tri-Central Community School Corporations to pass out to students as needed during the school year. Team members will also create holiday ornaments and bookmarks to give out during the annual Holiday Kick-Off in downtown Tipton this December.
