Tipton Community Theatre is pleased to bring Sister Act to the stage. This feel-good musical comedy smash is based on the hit 1992 film. Featuring original music by Tony- and eight-time Oscar winner, Alan Menken (Newsies, Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of Horrors), this uplifting musical was nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

When disco diva, Deloris Van Cartier, witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won’t be found: a convent! Using her disco moves and singing talent she inspires the choir and brings new life to the church and community but she blows her cover. However, Deloris has the power of her newfound sisterhood behind her.

The roles of the characters are being played by Bekkah Dorton (Deloris), Lauren Taylor (Mother Superior), Liz Roberts (Sister Mary Lazarus), Addie Gremel (Sister Mary Robert), Abigail Overdorf (Sister Mary Patrick), Ryan Schmitt (Curtis), Lucas Bowley (Eddie), Dylan Rockwell (Joey), Dustin Huddleston (TJ), Joseph Baker (Pablo) and Doug Tragesser (Monsignor O’Hara).

These characters are supported by an extremely talented ensemble cast.

Tipton Community Theatre hopes this musical will have the audiences jumping to their feet!

Performances will take place at the Tipton High School auditorium on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 17 at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $17 for adults and $12 for seniors (62 and over) and students(13 – college) and $7 for children (ages 2-12). Tickets are available at the door or online at tiptontheatre.com and seating is general admission.
