Alice Roberta “Bobbie” Tolle (Shown), age 84, of Tipton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023.
She was born on Nov. 3, 1938, in Knoxville, Tenn., to her parents, Floyd and Alice (Thomas) Shown.
In 1962, Bobbie married the love of her life, Larry Tolle, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 2019. They shared 57 years of marriage and raised a wonderful family together.
Bobbie graduated from Central High School in Fountain City, Tenn. After high school, she attended Purdue University where she earned a doctorate degree in Pharmacy. She worked for many years in the Marsh pharmacy from where she retired.
Bobbie was very active in the community and belonged to many clubs and organizations such as Theta Delta Chapter of Phi Beta Psi, Nifty Red Hat Mamas of Tipton and the Flower Trail Garden Club of Beavercreek, Ohio.
She was also a member of the West Street Christian Church.
Bobbie enjoyed gardening and found peace amongst her flowers. She loved to travel the world with her husband, Larry and later with her daughter, Kirstin.
Bobbie was very sociable and truly enjoyed her friendships and spending time with family. You never saw her without a smile on her face. She always had a cheerful greeting for everyone around her. She will be truly missed by all that had the honor to know her.
Those left to carry on Alice’s legacy of love are her children, Scott Tolle, and Kirstin Pietsch; daughter-inlaw, Kelly McFarlin Tolle; grandchildren, Brooke (Nate) Tolle Henshaw and Bryce Tolle; and her brother, Floyd Ted (Sandra) Shown.
Bobbie was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Floyd and Alice Shown; husband, Larry Tolle; and children, Kelly Tolle and Douglas Tolle.
A memorial service celebrating Bobbie’s life will be on April 15, 2023, at West Street Christian Church, located at 132 N. West Street in Tipton, with Pastor Ashley Sherard officiating.
A visitation for family and friends will take place prior to the service.
