Lillian “Mickey” Zimmerman Masters, 88, of Tipton, died Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at her home.
She was born in Brazil, Ind., on Nov. 22, 1934, to Richard Carl and Hila (Jones) Zimmerman.
She married the Rev. Jack R. Masters on Dec. 18, 1955. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2020.
Mickey enjoyed being the wife of a minister as they were able to reside in several locations including Williamsburg, Ohio; Eaton, Ohio; LaGrange, Ind.; Ft. Branch, Ind. and eventually in Tipton.
Mickey was a school teacher, volunteer and a homemaker. She was a graduate of Indiana State University and a member of the Sigma Kappa sorority.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Tipton where she was instrumental in many church activities.
She enjoyed genealogy, playing the piano, singing, sewing, playing tennis, yard work and of course she dearly loved her pets.
In her role as a volunteer, she served on the Tipton County Solid Waste board and was an active member of the Tri-Kappa Sorority.
Survivors include her children, J. Timothy Masters of Granger and Christiana Masters Browder of Shelbyville; and a son-in-law, Bill Greenwood of Sylva, N.C.
She has three grandchildren, Casey E. Browder of New York, Austin Masters (Amy) of Granger and Kaitlin Pormen (Alec) of Fishers. Great-grandchildren include Ellis Masters and Sage Pormen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; a daughter, Deborah L. Masters Greenwood and a daughter-in-law, Rhonda Masters.
A memorial service will occur for both Mickey and Jack at a later date this summer at the First Presbyterian Church in Tipton. Pastor Phil Votaw will preside.
Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield, Ind.
