Steven Everett Hawkins, age 68 of Elwood, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at his home. He was born August 6, 1954 in Tipton, the son of William and Virginia (Graham) Hawkins. He was a 1973 graduate of Tipton High School. Steven was selfemployed all his life and was a “Jack of All Trades”. Steven retired in 2021 following an accident. He was a member of Kemp United Methodist Church where he was baptized. Steven’s family includes two sons, Chris Hawkins of Tipton and Alex Hutchins of Tipton; 7 siblings, Kathy Murphy of Tipton, Mark Hawkins of Lynwood, WA, Lynn Cunniff of Pineville, NC, Lisa Plake of Tipton, Joe Hawkins of Tipton, Rich Hawkins of Tipton, and Rob Hawkins of Chicago; sister-in-law, Jane Hawkins of Tipton; 3 grandchildren, Erika Runyon of Elwood, Skyler Shafer of Tipton, and Jessyca Hawkins of Tipton; 2 great-grandsons, Andy Runyon and Theodore Runyon both of Elwood; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Steven was preceded in death by his parents; fiance’, Dawne Annette Rogers in 2019; and two siblings, Jim Hawkins, and Mike Hawkins. Cremation will take place. No services are scheduled at this time.
