Rebecca Sue “Becky” Alexander, age 73 of Anderson and a native of Elwood, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Community Hospital in Anderson following a very sudden illness. She was born May 22, 1949 in Elwood, the daughter of Lloyd H. and Dorothy M. ( Best) Cook. Becky graduated in 1967 from Wendell L. Willkie High School. She worked in production for Delphi Automotive in Kokomo for over 25 years and retired in 2003. Becky is married to Donald Ledbetter, and they have spent 25 years together. Becky was a member of the U.A.W. #292 in Kokomo.
She enjoyed shopping, crafting, and reading. Becky and Don enjoyed spending winters in Sebring, Florida for many years. She especially loved spending time with her beloved grandchildren and attending their sporting events to cheer them on. Becky was known for her delicious cooking and preparing dinners for her family. She will be remembered for having a big heart for helping others and someone who never knew a stranger. Becky will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Becky’s family legacy includes her husband, Donald Ledbetter of Anderson; 3 children, Heather (Jimmy) Morehead of Alexandria, Brandi (Jay) Adams of Anderson, and Chadd (Jennifer) Alexander of Alexandria; step-daughter, Sherry (Craig) Kirkpatrick of Georgia; 3 siblings, Terry (Jan) Cook of Pendleton, Karen (Larry) Carter of Tipton, and David (Twyla) Cook of Frankton; 5 grandchildren, Blake Morehead, Brennan Morehead, Allyson (Devon) Browder, Jackson Alexander, and Brady Alexander; a greatgranddaughter, Iris Browder; 3 step-grandchildren; beloved dog, “Molly”; and several nieces and nephews.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Phil Alexander. A memorial service celebrating Becky’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Scott Blaylock of Life Church, officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 am to 2 pm prior to the memorial at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
