ROBERT L. “BOB” MARTIN

Robert L. “Bob” Martin, age 72 and a lifelong resident of Elwood, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Ascension-St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis following a very brief illness. He was born March 23, 1951 in Elwood, the son of Orval and Frances (Kuntz) Martin.

Bob was a 1969 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School where he excelled in playing basketball, running crosscountry, and track. He married Rosanna “Rosie” Fromholz on October 6, 1979, and they shared over 43 years of marriage together. Bob worked in production at Delco Remy division of General Motors in Anderson for over 30 years before retiring in 2007.

Bob was known for being a very active person. He enjoyed woodworking, scroll saw projects, golfing, and working outside caring for his property. Bob’s favorite pastime was bowling in numerous area leagues where he was an accomplished bowler. He bowled 13 300 games receiving 13 recognition rings, and he also bowled an 800-series in a local league. More than anything, Bob loved spending time with his family, and he will be greatly missed. Bob’s family legacy includes his wife, Rosie of Elwood; son, Kevin Martin of Elwood; 2 brothers, Tom (wife Cathy) Martin of Oklahoma and Danny Martin of Elwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by both his parents and three siblings, Ronald Martin, Judy Kendall and David Martin. A funeral service celebrating Bob’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Copher-Fesler- May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Roger Gardner officiating. A burial will follow in Forrestville Cemetery in rural Summitville.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 12 to 2 pm prior to the funeral on Tuesday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.copherfeslermay. com.
