Dennis Wayne “Denny” Amsbury, 65, Tipton, passed away at 8:27 am Sunday, July 16, 2023, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo.  He was born August 12, 1957, in Tipton, the son of the late Donald Wayne Amsbury & Linda Lou (Shupperd) Amsbury-Burkhardt.  On March 10, 1978, at Morning Star Church in Kokomo, he married Cindy Lou Bugher who survives. 

Denny was a 1976 graduate of Tri Central High School.  He retired from John Deere as a Sales Associate and worked as a school bus driver for Tri Central School Corporation for over 30 years. 

Denny’s passion and love was farming and his trips to Florida.  He had a strong work ethic and enjoyed boating but especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. 

Along with his wife Cindy, Denny is also survived by his son, Adam (Sara) Amsbury; grandchildren, Aimin Amsbury and Amara Amsbury; two sisters and their spouses, one stepsister and one brother-in-law; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; stepdad, Fritz Burkhardt; and a great network of lifelong friends. 

Denny was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Bill Tully officiating.  A burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Tipton.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be given in Denny’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
