Since 1918, Callaway Park has been the most well-known park in Elwood. Dedicated in 1917 by Henry Callaway, the park spans several acres and has played home to some of Elwood's most notable moments in history.
In 1940, Wendell Willkie won the Republican presidential nomination and the park was the site of his acceptance speech, drawing an estimated
100,000 people to Elwood.
The park is also the location for the annual Glass Festival, and in 2022 the Elwood Chamber of Commerce hosted a Halloween gathering. Regardless of the season, it's always a day wellspent at Callaway Park
