Recently, members of the TCSO Special Emergency Response Team and Jail Commander Captain Ray Sheppard, presented Lieutenant Mitchell Johnson with the 2024 Commanders Award. Every year the Jail Commander accepts nominations from staff supervisors of the TCSO Corrections Center for this award. The Jail Commander’s Award is based on multiple factors related to overall work performance, attitude with staff and inmates, and most importantly, leadership ability. Lt. Johnson was recently selected to serve as the Assistant Jail Commander based on those factors as well as others, so it is not surprising that votes for him were unanimous. Congratulations to Lt. Johnson on this achievement and his new role!
